Key findings
This is an original analysis of the NEET UG 2026 Bihar BDS and AYUSH counselling cutoffs (UGMAC), built from the official opening and closing rank PDFs published by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). It covers the one government dental college and the three private dental colleges, and the four government AYUSH colleges — BAMS, BHMS and BUMS — with the private AYUSH colleges alongside. It says plainly where the data runs out, and the AYUSH half of this article is thinner than the BDS half for a specific reason explained below.
- Patna Dental College (PDC) closed at All India Rank 38,161 for UR before the stray round — the toughest BDS seat in Bihar, and the only government BDS seat in the state (30 seats).
- The three private dental colleges closed far lower: Buddha Institute of Dental Science at 6,55,405, Sarjug Dental College at 7,45,998 and Mithila Minority Dental College at 8,08,969 (UR, pre-stray).
- Government BAMS at R.A.C. Patna closed at 49,050 (UR, Round 1); BHMS at R.B.T.S. Muzaffarpur at 1,07,286; BUMS at Govt Tibbi College, Patna at 98,949. R.A.C. Begusarai has no UR row in the official Round 1 PDF at all.
- Bihar has 4 government AYUSH colleges with 352 seats in total (297 in the state quota), and 21 private AYUSH colleges in Round 2 — 8 BAMS, 9 BHMS and 4 BUMS — after 7 new private homoeopathic colleges joined in Round 2.
- NEET UG 2026 qualifying marks for UR/EWS were 715–213 out of 720; 19,99,895 candidates appeared and 11,21,185 qualified.
How to read these closing ranks
All ranks in this article are NEET UG All India Ranks (AIR) for the OPEN/General seat type, unless a table says otherwise. A closing rank is the last rank admitted to a college in a category — if your rank is equal to or better (lower) than the closing rank, you were in range for that seat.
BCECEB publishes one opening and closing rank (OCR) PDF per round, and each one is round-specific: the closing rank in a round is the last rank admitted in that round only, not the final rank for the year. A later round can admit a higher (worse) rank than an earlier round — and occasionally a lower one, as Patna Dental College's BC closing shows (38,659 in Round 2, 38,346 in Round 3). So the pre-stray final closing rank for a college and category is the highest closing rank across Rounds 1, 2 and 3. That is how the BDS main table below is built. It is a calculation from the three round PDFs, not a figure BCECEB itself published.
AYUSH counselling runs on a separate track from MBBS/BDS counselling, under the same board but with its own advertisements (UGMAC(AYUSH)-2026) and its own OCR PDFs. Its Round 1 allotment was on 3 October 2026 and its Round 2 allotment on 19 October 2026. Only the Round 1 OCR PDF could be located, so the max-across-rounds rule cannot be applied to AYUSH yet — there is only one round of official data.
Bihar's state counselling does not use an OBC-NCL category. It splits OBC into BC (Backward Classes) and EBC (Extremely Backward Classes), alongside UR, EWS, SC and ST. There are also RCG (Reserved Category Girls) and DQ (Disabled Quota) seat types in the official PDFs. Private BDS and AYUSH colleges publish UR-OPEN rows only — no category split — because their seats are open merit.
A dash (—) in a table means no allotment of that category in that round in the source document. It does not mean zero seats and it does not mean nobody was admitted — it means the source has no row for that combination. BDS Round 1 figures are tracker-sourced and cross-checked; BDS Rounds 2 and 3 and AYUSH Round 1 come from the official BCECEB PDFs.
BDS 2026 closing ranks by college and category (pre-stray)
The table below is the pre-stray position for BDS in 2026: for each college and category, the highest closing rank across UGMAC Rounds 1, 2 and 3. The stray vacancy round (allotment 27 October 2026) will push some of these ranks higher. Patna Dental College is the only government dental college in Bihar, with 30 state-quota BDS seats; the other three colleges are private, with 200 private BDS seats between them in the Round 1 matrix.

Derived by StudyDesk as the maximum closing rank across Rounds 1-3; not a BCECEB-published figure. Round 1 contributes UR values only (tracker-sourced); EWS, BC, EBC, SC, ST, Female-UR and RCG come from the official Round 2 and Round 3 PDFs. Private colleges publish UR rows only. A dash means no row for that combination in the sources.
BDS round by round: Rounds 1, 2 and 3
Each round's table is reproduced as published. Round 1 is tracker-sourced (UR only); Rounds 2 and 3 are from the official BCECEB PDFs. Read them together with the rule above: a single round's closing rank is not the year's final rank.

From the official BCECEB Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF. Private colleges publish UR rows only. Patna Dental College Round 2 Female-EWS closed at 40,637, Female-BC at 37,234, Female-EBC at 36,236 and Female-SC at 1,80,530; its DQ closing was 9,61,608.

From the official BCECEB Round 3 opening and closing rank PDF. Round 3 offered 23 BDS seats. Note the Round 3 BC closing at Patna Dental College (38,346) is lower than Round 2 (38,659) — a later round does not always go further down the list, which is why the pre-stray final is the maximum across rounds.
Round 3 offered 23 BDS seats, and Round 1 allotted 221 BDS seats. The private colleges moved a long way between rounds: Buddha Institute of Dental Science went from 6,55,405 in Round 1 to 5,06,596 in Round 3, and Mithila Minority Dental College from 8,08,969 to 7,96,964. Those Round 3 figures are lower than Round 1 because the Round 1 closing includes the full sweep of open-merit allotments, while later rounds fill only the seats that came back — the pre-stray final is still the highest figure across the three rounds.
AYUSH 2026 closing ranks (Round 1 only)
AYUSH counselling (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS) is run by BCECEB under separate UGMAC(AYUSH) advertisements. Round 1 allotment was on 3 October 2026 and Round 2 allotment on 19 October 2026. The tables below are Round 1 only, from the official BCECEB Round 1 opening and closing rank PDF. No Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF could be located, so these are not final 2026 closings — Round 2 offered 568 seats, 50 of them in government colleges, and will have moved several of these ranks.

From the official BCECEB UGMAC(AYUSH) Round 1 opening and closing rank PDF. This is a Round 1 table only — no Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF could be located, so these are not final 2026 closings. R.A.C. Begusarai has no UR-OPEN row in the PDF; its UR-FEMALE closing was 49,515. Do not interpolate a UR rank.
| College | Course | UR-OPEN closing |
|---|---|---|
| Himalaya Ayurvedic Medical College, Paliganj (Patna) | BAMS | 11,84,192 |
| J.P. Institute of Ayurveda Medical Science, Sarai Maner (Patna) | BAMS | 11,85,098 |
| Acharya Dhrubasha Ayurveda Medical College, Sitamarhi | BAMS | 11,84,438 |
| Dr Prakash Chandra Ayurved Medical College, Bela/Naubatpur (Patna) | BAMS | 11,91,289 |
| Nitishwar Ayurved Medical College, Muzaffarpur | BAMS | 11,91,083 |
| Swami Raghwendracharya Tridandi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Karjara, Gaya | BAMS | 11,91,554 |

| Nezamia Unani Medical College, Gaya | BUMS | 11,84,393 |
From the official BCECEB UGMAC(AYUSH) Round 1 opening and closing rank PDF. Private colleges publish UR-OPEN rows only. Closings near 11.9 lakh AIR reflect that private AYUSH seats admit down to the NEET qualifying floor.
Round 1 covered 15 colleges. Round 2 grew the pool to 25 colleges after 7 new private homoeopathic colleges joined under a Health Department letter dated 8 October 2026 — so the Round 1 private table above is missing the colleges that first appeared in Round 2, including the new homoeopathic colleges in Siwan, Katihar, Darbhanga, Patna, Hajipur, Gaya and Laheriasarai. Their Round 2 closings are among the figures that could not be verified.
AYUSH seats 2026: who offers what
Government AYUSH seats are the contested ones: 4 colleges, 352 seats in total, of which 297 are in the Bihar state quota and 55 in the All-India Quota filled through AACCC. The private pool is much larger — 8 BAMS colleges with 446 seats, 9 BHMS colleges and 4 BUMS colleges — and the total AYUSH undergraduate intake in Bihar in 2026 is reported as 1,151 seats.
| College | Course | AIQ seats | State-quota seats | Total seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| R.A.C. Patna | BAMS | 19 | 106 | 125 |
| R.A.C. Begusarai | BAMS | 6 | 32 | 38 |
| Govt R.B.T.S. Homoeopathic Medical College, Muzaffarpur | BHMS | 11 | 64 | 75 |
| Govt Tibbi College, Patna | BUMS | 19 | 95 | 114 |
| Government total | 55 | 297 | 352 |
Tracker-sourced (Collegedunia, citing the official Round 2 seat matrix). One other tracker lists R.A.C. Begusarai at 30 seats, against 38 here — unresolved. Total AYUSH UG seats in Bihar in 2026 are reported as 1,151 (tracker); the private pools are 8 BAMS colleges (446 seats), 9 BHMS colleges and 4 BUMS colleges.
Round 2 had 568 vacant seats on offer: 50 in government colleges (R.A.C. Begusarai 6, R.A.C. Patna 6, R.B.T.S. Muzaffarpur 18, Govt Tibbi College 20), 146 in private BAMS colleges, 327 in private BHMS colleges and 45 in private BUMS colleges. That vacancy count is the clearest sign of how much of Round 1 went unfilled in the private colleges — and why their Round 1 closings sit near 11.9 lakh.
Reservation in the state quota follows the UGMAC(AYUSH) prospectus: EBC 18%, SC 16%, BC 12%, RCG 3% and ST 1%, with EWS at 10% applied horizontally where sanctioned. Government seats require Bihar domicile; private AYUSH seats are open to candidates from all over India.
Trends: 2024 to 2026
The tables below compare closing ranks across 2024, 2025 and 2026. The 2025 and 2024 values are tracker values and should be read as final/trend figures, not verified official figures. The 2026 BDS column is the pre-stray maximum across Rounds 1-3; the 2026 AYUSH column is Round 1 only, so the AYUSH comparison is not like-for-like and the 2026 figures there will rise once Round 2 data appears.
| College | 2024 UR | 2025 UR | 2026 UR (pre-stray) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Patna Dental College (PDC), Patna (government) | 34,159 | 34,578 | 38,161 |
| Buddha Institute of Dental Science, Patna (private) | Not verified | 7,46,744 | 6,55,405 |
| Sarjug Dental College, Laheriasarai (private) | Not verified | 8,03,337 | 7,45,998 |
| Mithila Minority Dental College, Darbhanga (private) | Not verified | 8,97,141 | 8,08,969 |
2025/2024 values are tracker values (Collegedunia for PDC; Careers360 for the private colleges). Careers360 gives the PDC 2025 closing as 33,334, against Collegedunia's 34,578 — unresolved. Private-college 2024 closings were not verified. The 2026 column is the pre-stray maximum across Rounds 1-3.
Patna Dental College tightened in 2026: its UR closing moved from 34,578 in 2025 to 38,161 pre-stray in 2026 — and it was already at 34,159 in 2024, so the college has sat near 34,000-38,000 for three years. The private dental colleges went the other way in the pre-stray figures, but that is partly an artefact: their 2025 values are final figures while the 2026 values are pre-stray maxima, and the stray round will push the 2026 private closings higher still.
| College | Course | 2025 UR (max R1/R2, tracker) | 2026 UR (Round 1 only, official) |
|---|---|---|---|
| R.A.C. Patna | BAMS | 52,424 | 49,050 |
| Govt R.B.T.S. Homoeopathic Medical College, Muzaffarpur | BHMS | 1,62,589 | 1,07,286 |
| Govt Tibbi College, Patna | BUMS | 1,16,764 | 98,949 |
| R.A.C. Begusarai | BAMS | Not verified | Not verified (no UR-OPEN row) |
This comparison is NOT like-for-like: the 2025 column is the maximum across two rounds, while the 2026 column is Round 1 only, because no Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF could be located. Round 2 (568 seats on offer, 50 of them government) will push the 2026 ranks higher. Do not read the lower 2026 figures as the colleges getting easier.
The AYUSH trend table looks like the government colleges got easier in 2026 — R.A.C. Patna from 52,424 to 49,050, R.B.T.S. from 1,62,589 to 1,07,286, Tibbi from 1,16,764 to 98,949. Do not draw that conclusion: the 2025 figures are maxima across two rounds and the 2026 figures are Round 1 only. Round 2, with 50 government seats on offer, will close the gap and may reverse it. The honest reading is that Round 1 2026 was in line with, or slightly tighter than, Round 1 2025 for the same colleges.
What rank gets which college
Read directly from the tables above. These bands are for the UR category, OPEN/General seat type, in the state quota. A rank at or below a college's closing rank was in range for that college in the rounds covered.
- BDS, up to AIR 38,161 – Patna Dental College, Patna (government; the only government BDS seat in Bihar).
- BDS, up to AIR 6,55,405 – Buddha Institute of Dental Science, Patna (private).
- BDS, up to AIR 7,45,998 – Sarjug Dental College, Laheriasarai (private).
- BDS, up to AIR 8,08,969 – Mithila Minority Dental College, Darbhanga (private).
- BAMS (government), up to AIR 49,050 in Round 1 – R.A.C. Patna. No UR band can be given for R.A.C. Begusarai, because no UR-OPEN row appears for it in the official Round 1 PDF.
- BHMS (government), up to AIR 1,07,286 in Round 1 – Govt R.B.T.S. Homoeopathic Medical College, Muzaffarpur.
- BUMS (government), up to AIR 98,949 in Round 1 – Govt Tibbi College, Patna.
- Private AYUSH (BAMS/BHMS/BUMS), up to about AIR 11.9 lakh in Round 1 – effectively any NEET-qualified candidate, since the closings sit at the qualifying floor.
For EWS at Patna Dental College, the pre-stray closing was 40,060; BC 38,659; EBC 39,584; SC 1,72,201. For the government AYUSH colleges the Round 1 category closings are in the main AYUSH table above. All of these bands will move after the stray vacancy allotment on 27 October 2026 — a rank just above a closing rank today may still get that college in the stray round, and the AYUSH bands will move further once Round 2 closings are known.
All-India Quota cutoffs (MCC / AACCC)
The All-India Quota seats in Bihar's government BDS and AYUSH colleges are counselled separately from the state quota — BDS through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and AYUSH through the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC). The figures below are tracker-sourced; no MCC- or AACCC-published college-wise closing-rank document for Bihar was found for 2026.
| College | Course | Quota | 2026 closing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Patna Dental College, Patna | BDS | MCC AIQ, Round 3 | 37,494 |
| R.A.C. Begusarai | BAMS | AACCC AIQ | 49,062 (536 marks) |
| Govt Tibbi College, Patna | BUMS | AACCC AIQ | 61,326 (524 marks) |
| R.A.C. Patna | BAMS | AACCC AIQ, Round 1 | 41,273 |
Tracker-sourced (Shiksha and Collegedunia for the MCC BDS figure; NEET Counselling Help for the AACCC figures; Shiksha for the R.A.C. Patna AIQ Round 1 figure). The R.A.C. Patna AIQ figure is a different counselling from UGMAC — do not compare it with the UGMAC Round 1 closing of 49,050. MCC AIQ Round 3 BDS closings for PDC were 29,497 in 2025 and 33,022 in 2024.
The AIQ and state-quota figures sit close together for AYUSH, which is unusual: R.A.C. Begusarai's AIQ closing (49,062) is almost the same rank as R.A.C. Patna's state-quota Round 1 closing (49,050). For BDS the AIQ Round 3 closing at Patna Dental College (37,494) is slightly tougher than the state-quota pre-stray closing (38,161). AACCC Round 3 registrations for AYUSH opened on 14 October 2026; its college-wise closings for Bihar were not verified.
NEET UG 2026 qualifying cutoffs
Qualifying for NEET UG is not the same as getting a seat. These are the minimum marks needed to qualify at all, set by the National Testing Agency (NTA) when results were declared on 16 July 2026. They matter most for private AYUSH seats, where closings sit at the qualifying floor.
| Category | Qualifying percentile | Qualifying marks | Qualified candidates |
|---|---|---|---|
| UR / EWS | 50th | 715–213 | 9,96,935 |
| OBC / SC / ST | 40th | 212–177 | OBC 81,111; SC 29,947; ST 12,452 |
| UR / EWS – PwBD | 45th | 212–194 | 480 |
| OBC – PwBD | 40th | 193–177 | 185 |
| SC – PwBD | 40th | 193–177 | 64 |
| ST – PwBD | 40th | 191–177 | 11 |
One outlet (Times of India) reports the ST–PwBD range as 191–178 rather than 191–177. These figures are carried from the companion MBBS cutoff analysis, which verified them against NTA reporting.
In total, 19,99,895 candidates appeared and 11,21,185 qualified. The original exam scheduled for 3 May 2026 was cancelled after paper-leak allegations, and a re-exam was held on 21 June 2026; results were declared on 16 July 2026.
For comparison, the qualifying marks in 2025 were 144 for UR and 113 for OBC/SC/ST (12,36,531 qualified), and in 2024 they were 162 for UR and 127 for OBC/SC/ST (13,15,853 qualified). This article states the numbers only and does not give a reason for the change.
What is still pending
The UGMAC stray vacancy round is still in progress. Registration and choice editing closed on 24 October 2026 at 10:00 PM (fee payment by 11:59 PM), the rank card is published on 25 October, choice locking is on 25 October, provisional allotment is on 27 October, and verification and admission run on 28–29 October 2026. The stray round covers MBBS, BDS and AYUSH seats. The published stray matrix figures found so far cover 26 government MBBS seats, 223 private MBBS seats and 14 private BDS seats; stray seat counts for government BDS and for AYUSH were not stated in the sources found.
Once BCECEB publishes the stray round's opening and closing rank PDF, the final 2026 closing rank for each BDS college and category will be calculated the same way as in this article — the highest closing rank across all rounds including the stray round. The stray PDF's own closing rank must not be quoted as the final rank, because it is round-specific, like every other round's PDF. This article will be updated after the 27 October allotment.
For AYUSH, the update depends on BCECEB publishing a Round 2 — or Round 3, or stray — opening and closing rank document at all. So far only a candidate-wise Round 2 allotment result exists. If no OCR document appears, this article stays Round-1-based and will say so; the Round 2 closings will not be guessed from the candidate list.
What could not be verified
This article deliberately does not publish the following, because no verifiable source was found. A missing cell is better than a guessed rank.
- AYUSH Round 2 (2026) closing ranks, all colleges and categories — no Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF could be located; only the candidate-wise allotment result (19 October 2026, revised) exists. The AYUSH tables in this article are Round 1 only.
- BDS Round 1 category detail for Patna Dental College (EWS/BC/EBC/SC/ST/Female) — only the Round 1 UR closing (35,416) is available, via AglaSem citing the official Round 1 PDF.
- 2026 final (post-stray) closing ranks for BDS and AYUSH — the stray allotment is on 27 October 2026, after this article's publication date.
- Per-college private BDS seat counts (Buddha, Mithila Minority, Sarjug) — only the 200-seat private BDS total is verified. Per-college private AYUSH seat totals likewise, except the BAMS pool total of 446.
- Government Dental College & Hospital, Nalanda in 2026 — present in 2025 tracker lists but absent from every 2026 UGMAC opening and closing rank PDF and from the 2026 seat matrix (government BDS = 30 seats = Patna Dental College only). It is not clear whether it admitted through UGMAC in 2026.
- 2025 and 2024 UGMAC closing ranks for R.A.C. Begusarai (BAMS), and private-college 2024 BDS and AYUSH closings — not retrieved from any source.
- 2024 UGMAC (state-quota) closings for R.A.C. Patna and R.B.T.S. Muzaffarpur — only All-India Quota figures exist in the sources found, and AIQ figures must not be used as state-quota trends.
- All-India Quota 2026 Round 3 and stray college-wise closings for Bihar BDS and AYUSH beyond the four rows in the AIQ table.
- Stray-round seat counts for government BDS and for AYUSH — the published stray matrix figures found cover government MBBS (26), private MBBS (223) and private BDS (14) only.
- Unresolved tracker conflicts: PDC 2025 closing 34,578 (Collegedunia) vs 33,334 (Careers360); R.A.C. Begusarai total seats 38 (Collegedunia, citing the official matrix) vs 30 (NEET Counselling Help); a tracker table saying 'Private BUMS: 1 college' against the official vacant matrix listing 4 private BUMS colleges.

Sources & verification
BDS closing ranks checked against the official BCECEB Round 2 and Round 3 opening & closing rank PDFs on 25 October 2026; Round 1 UR values are tracker-sourced from AglaSem citing the official Round 1 PDF. AYUSH closing ranks come from the official BCECEB UGMAC(AYUSH) Round 1 opening & closing rank PDF only — no Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF could be located, so the AYUSH tables are Round 1 only and are not final 2026 closings. Stray vacancy allotment on 27 October 2026 will move the BDS ranks. What could not be verified is listed in full in the 'What could not be verified' section.
Frequently asked questions
Are these the final Bihar BDS and AYUSH cutoffs for 2026?
No. The BDS ranks are the pre-stray position — the highest closing rank across UGMAC Rounds 1, 2 and 3 — and the stray vacancy allotment on 27 October 2026 will move some of them. The AYUSH ranks are even earlier: they are Round 1 only, because no Round 2 opening and closing rank PDF could be located. Round 2 admitted further candidates, so the AYUSH tables understate the final position.
Why is there no Round 2 table for AYUSH?
BCECEB published a Round 2 rank card and a candidate-wise Round 2 allotment result for UGMAC(AYUSH), but no opening and closing rank summary PDF for Round 2 could be located in the sources checked. Rather than guess Round 2 closings from the candidate list, this article publishes only the official Round 1 closing ranks and says so plainly.
Why does this article use BC and EBC instead of OBC?
Bihar's state counselling does not use an OBC-NCL category. It splits OBC into BC (Backward Classes) and EBC (Extremely Backward Classes), alongside UR, EWS, SC and ST. The All-India Quota tables use the national categories, including OBC.
Why is there no UR closing rank for R.A.C. Begusarai?
No UR-OPEN row appears at all for R.A.C. Begusarai in the official Round 1 AYUSH PDF, although its UR-FEMALE row closes at 49,515. That is an anomaly in the source document, not proof that the college has no UR seats. Do not treat the dash as no UR seat and do not guess a rank.
Why do private AYUSH colleges close at ranks near 12 lakh?
Private AYUSH colleges publish UR-OPEN rows only and admit down to the NEET qualifying floor — the lowest qualifying mark in 2026 was 177 out of 720, which corresponds to a rank beyond 11 lakh. A closing rank near 11.9 lakh means the last seat went to a candidate only just above the qualifying mark.
Why do different websites show different ranks for Patna Dental College in 2025?
Because the trackers disagree: Collegedunia's round-wise 2025 table gives a final General closing of 34,578, while Careers360 gives 33,334. This article uses Collegedunia's figure as primary because its round-wise table is more detailed, and flags the conflict rather than silently picking one.
