Device preparation timeline

  1. At least 30 days beforeDownload Bluebook early and request a College Board loaned device at least 30 days ahead if you cannot access a compatible device.
  2. 1–5 days before testComplete exam setup in Bluebook. This downloads your test and generates the admission ticket.
  3. Test morningCharge the device, open Bluebook for any last-minute messages and bring your account credentials.

College Board device lending

If you cannot borrow a compatible device from school, family or friends, College Board may be able to lend one. A request does not guarantee a device, and the request must be submitted at least 30 days before test day.

Check device readiness before test day

Device policy is operational information and can change. StudyDesk should link directly to College Board rather than preserving an old hardware list as permanent advice.

  • Complete the official Bluebook device check and any required exam setup before the deadline for your administration.
  • Use a supported personal or school-managed device and verify charging, operating-system and storage requirements on the current College Board page.
  • Do not wait until the test centre to discover that your device cannot run the required app.
  • Follow the official instructions for approved backup-device or loan-device procedures when applicable.

Why the current official policy matters
