Where Intake 02/2027 stands right now

The Indian Air Force's Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 has moved past its written stage. Online registration ran from 6 July to 26 July 2026 and is closed. The Phase-I online test was held on 22 and 23 September 2026, exam-city details were released on 11 September, and the provisional answer key was published on 26 September 2026 through the candidate login, with the response sheet available alongside it.

That puts every candidate for this intake in the same position: holding an answer key, able to estimate a score, and waiting for the Phase-I result and the Phase-II call-up. This guide is for that interval — what the answer key can and cannot tell you, what Phase II actually consists of, and how the final Provisional Select List is assembled state by state. If you did not apply in July, registration for this intake cannot be reopened; the next intake is a separate notification on the CASB portal, and no date for it is stated in any official source checked for this article.

First, use the answer key correctly

With the response sheet and answer key in your login, score yourself honestly: +1 for each correct answer, −0.25 for each wrong one, with unattempted questions scoring zero — the marking scheme notified for this intake's Phase-I test. Three cautions:

  • Your computed score is not your result. Shortlisting for Phase II is done state-wise, because vacancies and the Provisional Select List are prepared state-wise and female intake is decided separately. The same raw score can clear the shortlist in one state and miss it in another.
  • An objection is a document, not an opinion. If you challenge a key answer, the challenge window and fee rules in the candidate login govern; a challenge stands or falls on the reference you attach, not on how many candidates agree with you.
  • Do not stop training while you wait. Phase II is physical. The candidates who treat the result gap as rest are the ones the fitness test removes.

Who was eligible — the baseline Phase II verifies against

Phase II includes document verification, and the documents are checked against the intake's notified eligibility. For 02/2027, candidates were required to be unmarried Indian citizens born between 1 July 2005 and 1 January 2010 (both dates inclusive), with an upper age of 22 years on the date of enrolment if they clear all stages. The education baseline:

The application fee for this intake was ₹550 plus GST for all candidates. The Air Force does not announce a single all-India vacancy total for Agniveervayu; intake is fixed by service requirement and worked out state-wise, which is precisely why cut-offs differ between states.

Phase II, component by component

Candidates shortlisted from Phase I are called to an Airmen Selection Centre for Phase II, which has four components:

1. Document verification. Originals of your Class 10 and 12 certificates, marksheets, identity and category documents are checked against the application. A mismatch between the application and the originals ends the candidature here, before any physical test.

2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The components are a 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups and squats, performed to the standards notified for the intake, with separate standards for male and female candidates. Secondary summaries of different intakes quote different timings, so train against the standards in the official notification for 02/2027 and your Phase-II admit card — not against a number from a video about an earlier intake.

3. Adaptability Test-I. A written objective test that checks whether a candidate's responses fit the pattern the IAF looks for in its personnel. There is no syllabus to cram; there is a temperament being assessed, and coached "ideal answers" are not the advantage candidates imagine.

4. Adaptability Test-II. A group-based assessment — candidates work in small groups on assigned activities and discussions, and assessors observe how each person functions in the group: communication, cooperation, and behaviour under mild pressure.

Candidates who clear Phase II go forward to Phase III, the medical examination, conducted to IAF medical standards. Those declared unfit have the option of an Appeal Medical Board, as the notification provides.

How the Provisional Select List is built

After medicals, the IAF prepares the Provisional Select List (PSL) state-wise, in merit order, from the candidates who have cleared every stage. Two consequences follow. First, there is no single national cut-off to compare yourself against — your competition is the candidate pool of your own state. Second, being on the PSL is not the same as enrolment: enrolment lists are drawn from the PSL as vacancies are released, and candidates beyond the released enrolment list simply age out of the intake. Four years of service, the monthly package rising from ₹30,000 in year one to ₹40,000 in year four with a portion building the Seva Nidhi corpus, and the Seva Nidhi payment on completion apply to those enrolled, as they do across the Agnipath scheme.

Your checklist for the wait

  • Download and keep your Phase-I response sheet, answer key and admit card PDFs now, while the login is active.
  • Recompute your score with the −0.25 rule and keep the number private and realistic; it tells you whether Phase II preparation is urgent, not whether you are selected.
  • Put the document file in order today: originals plus photocopies, exactly as for the verification described above.
  • Train the run, push-ups, sit-ups and squats daily. Phase II rewards the candidate who used October well.
  • Watch the candidate login and the official CASB portal for the Phase-I result and Phase-II dates. As of the sources checked on 20 October 2026, those dates have not been announced — any page giving you an exact Phase-II date today is guessing.
